3970010 - 69-72 2 or 4 bolt main used on Corvettes, Camaros, trucks, Nova,
Chevelle

462624 - 71-85 head used on Corvettes, Truck, Camaro

You can check http://www.mortec.com and see what their casting numbers dig
up.

yea thanks, i looked there but it dint really tell me too much maybe
im just that stupid ha, but it does have target master valve covers,
so i think that it is a target motor is there any way to look up the
ID # thats on the pad in front of the passenger head V1299800 ?????
also when they built the target motors did they reuse an old block or
would they cast a new one using that old casting # because you say
that the casting # showed up 69-72......And the amount od wear on this
motor it is deffinetly not that old even if it was rebulid because
this motor runs perfect and the cylinder walls still have the hatching
stuff on them from the honing or whatever.. i dont know too much about
them but i know enough to get by.... thanks alot
